Description

Enjoy these Tiramisu Cups, a charming twist on the classic Italian dessert. Featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a luscious mascarpone cream, these individual servings are perfect for any celebration or a sweet treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by brewing a strong cup of coffee. Let it cool to room temperature.
  2. If using coffee liqueur, mix it into the cooled coffee.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream and whip on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  4. In another bowl, combine the softened mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring not to soak them.
  7. In your serving cups, place a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom.
  8. Spoon a layer of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers, using about 1/4 of the cream mixture.
  9. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by another layer of mascarpone cream.
  10. Smooth the top layer of mascarpone cream with a spatula.
  11. Cover the assembled tiramisu cups with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  12. Prepare any garnishes while the tiramisu is chilling.
  13. Once chilled, dust the tops with unsweetened cocoa powder.
  14. If using chocolate shavings, sprinkle them on top.
  15. Serve and enjoy the layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the coffee liqueur.
  • Ensure the coffee is completely cooled before dipping the ladyfingers to prevent them from becoming too soggy.
  • Tiramisu can be made a day in advance for better flavor development.
