This Taco Pizza features a crispy crust topped with refried beans, seasoned ground meat, taco sauce, and a blend of cheeses, finished with fresh toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado. It’s a fun and delicious twist on traditional pizza, perfect for gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pizza crust
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup taco sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup corn
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. If using a store-bought pizza crust, remove it from the packaging and place it on a pizza stone or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If making your own, roll it out to your desired thickness and shape.
  3. Spread the refried beans evenly over the pizza crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Pour the taco sauce over the refried beans, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the taco sauce, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Add the seasoned ground beef or turkey evenly across the pizza.
  7. Sprinkle the diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, and corn over the top.
  8. Finally, add the chopped green onions and cilantro (if using).
  9. Carefully place the pizza in the preheated oven. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, and the crust is crispy.
  10. Once done, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
  11. Slice the pizza into wedges using a sharp pizza cutter.
  12. Place a generous handful of shredded lettuce on top of each slice.
  13. Top each slice with a dollop of sour cream and a few slices of avocado.
  14. Serve with lime wedges on the side for a zesty kick.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the meat and add more vegetables like bell peppers or jalapeños.
  • For extra spice, consider adding sliced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes before baking.
  • Experiment with different cheese types for a unique flavor.
