Strawberry Shots: The Ultimate Guide to Delicious and Easy Recipes

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 shots 1x

Description

Fruity strawberry shots with vodka, orange liqueur, and lime. Perfect for parties!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, plus more for rimming
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vodka (or more, to taste!)
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Triple Sec or Cointreau)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Puree: In a medium saucepan, combine strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until strawberries soften (8-10 minutes).
  2. Mash the strawberries with a potato masher or spoon. Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cool completely. Transfer to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a smoother puree (optional).
  4. Prepare Shot Glasses (Optional): Rim shot glasses with sugar by moistening the rim with a lime wedge and dipping it in sugar. Chill shot glasses in the freezer for 15-20 minutes for an extra refreshing shot.
  5. Mix the Shots: In a cocktail shaker, combine strawberry puree, vodka, orange liqueur, and lime juice.
  6. Add ice to the shaker.
  7. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  8. Strain into prepared shot glasses.
  9. Garnish with lime wedges.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of vodka and orange liqueur to your taste.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the vodka and orange liqueur and replace them with sparkling water or club soda.
  • Experiment with other fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or peaches.
  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or jalapeño slices to the strawberry puree while simmering.
  • Prepare the strawberry puree ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Serve immediately for the best taste.
  • Enjoy responsibly!
