Strawberry Daiquiri: The Ultimate Guide to Making the Perfect Cocktail

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing and easy summer cocktail. Blended with fresh strawberries, lime juice, rum, and a touch of strawberry liqueur.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces (180ml) white rum
  • 3 ounces (90ml) fresh lime juice
  • 3 ounces (90ml) strawberry liqueur (such as Fraise)
  • 1 cup (about 150g) fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 cup ice cubes, plus more for serving
  • Lime wedges and fresh strawberries, for garnish (optional)
  • Sugar, for rimming the glasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Rinse strawberries, hull them, and chop into quarters.
  2. Prepare the Glasses (Optional): Pour sugar onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass, then dip the rim in sugar to coat.
  3. Combine Ingredients in a Blender: Add white rum, fresh lime juice, strawberry liqueur, chopped strawberries, and ice cubes to a blender.
  4. Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid and blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high speed, until smooth and frosty (about 20-30 seconds). If too thick, add more lime juice or rum. If too thin, add more ice.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Taste the daiquiri. If too tart, add more strawberry liqueur or simple syrup. If too sweet, add more lime juice. If not strong enough, add more rum. Blend briefly to incorporate.
  6. Pour and Serve: Pour the daiquiri into prepared glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge and a fresh strawberry, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a thicker daiquiri, use frozen strawberries.
  • Experiment with other fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or mangoes.
  • For a mocktail, omit the rum and replace it with more lime juice or strawberry juice.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or jalapeño slices for a spicy kick.
  • Try flavored rums like coconut or vanilla.
  • Make a large batch by multiplying the ingredients.
  • Freeze leftover daiquiri in popsicle molds.
