Enjoy these fudgy strawberry brownies that blend rich chocolate with fresh strawberries, creating a deliciously sweet treat perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch square baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth and creamy (about 1-2 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips for added richness.
- Gently fold the sliced strawberries into the brownie batter, being careful not to break them apart too much.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Once baked, let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully lift them out using the parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Cut the cooled brownies into squares (about 16 squares from an 8×8 pan).
- Dust the tops with powdered sugar for an elegant touch.
- Serve with extra slices of fresh strawberries and, if desired, a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Allow them to come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
Notes
- For a richer chocolate flavor, consider adding more chocolate chips or using dark chocolate.
- Feel free to experiment with other fruits like raspberries or blueberries for a different twist.
