  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing twist on the classic margarita with sweet mango, smoky paprika, and a hint of spice. Perfect for summer gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar (or honey, to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 4 ounces tequila blanco (silver tequila)
  • 2 ounces orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 4 ounces smoky mango puree (from above)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges
  • Chili lime salt (for rimming the glasses)
  • Mango slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Smoky Mango Puree:
    • Combine mangoes, water, agave nectar (or honey), smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) in a blender.
    • Blend until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
    • Taste and adjust sweetness or smokiness to your liking. Set aside.
  2. Mix the Margaritas:
    • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
    • Pour in tequila blanco, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and smoky mango puree.
    • Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  3. Prepare the Glasses and Serve:
    • If desired, rim glasses with chili lime salt. Spread salt on a plate, moisten glass rims with a lime wedge, and dip into the salt.
    • Fill prepared glasses with ice.
    • Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses, dividing evenly.
    • Garnish with lime wedges and mango slices, if desired.
    • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjusting Sweetness: Add more agave/honey for a sweeter margarita, or reduce for less sweetness.
  • Spice it Up: Add jalapeño slices to the shaker for extra spice.
  • Frozen Margarita: Blend all ingredients with ice until smooth.
  • Smoky Tequila: Use reposado tequila for a smokier flavor.
  • Non-Alcoholic: Omit tequila/liqueur, replace with sparkling water/club soda.
  • Make Ahead: Prepare puree up to 2 days in advance.
  • Batching: Multiply ingredients for a large batch, chill in a pitcher.
  • Salt Alternatives: Use regular salt, sugar, or Tajin for rimming.
