Ingredients

- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon agave nectar (or honey, to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- 4 ounces tequila blanco (silver tequila)
- 2 ounces orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
- 4 ounces smoky mango puree (from above)
- Ice cubes
- Lime wedges
- Chili lime salt (for rimming the glasses)
- Mango slices
Instructions
- Prepare the Smoky Mango Puree:
- Combine mangoes, water, agave nectar (or honey), smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) in a blender.
- Blend until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or smokiness to your liking. Set aside.
- Mix the Margaritas:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Pour in tequila blanco, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and smoky mango puree.
- Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
- Prepare the Glasses and Serve:
- If desired, rim glasses with chili lime salt. Spread salt on a plate, moisten glass rims with a lime wedge, and dip into the salt.
- Fill prepared glasses with ice.
- Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses, dividing evenly.
- Garnish with lime wedges and mango slices, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjusting Sweetness: Add more agave/honey for a sweeter margarita, or reduce for less sweetness.
- Spice it Up: Add jalapeño slices to the shaker for extra spice.
- Frozen Margarita: Blend all ingredients with ice until smooth.
- Smoky Tequila: Use reposado tequila for a smokier flavor.
