- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or sweetener of choice, to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra richness)
- 1 cup ice cubes (or more, depending on desired thickness)
- Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder, for garnish (optional)
- Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brew the Coffee: Brew one cup of strong coffee using your preferred method (drip, French press, pour-over).
- Cool the Coffee: Allow the brewed coffee to cool completely. Refrigerate or freeze briefly to speed up the process.
- Combine Ingredients in the Blender: In a blender, combine the cooled coffee, milk, cocoa powder, sugar (or sweetener), and peppermint extract. Add heavy cream if desired.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend on medium speed until all ingredients are well combined and the cocoa powder is fully dissolved.
- Add Ice: Gradually add the ice cubes to the blender while it’s running, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Blend Again: Continue blending until the mixture is smooth and creamy, with no large ice chunks remaining.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste and adjust the sweetness or peppermint flavor as needed.
- Pour into Glasses: Pour the blended Mint Mocha Frozen Coffee into your favorite glasses.
- Add Whipped Cream (Optional): Top each glass with whipped cream, if desired.
- Garnish: Sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder over the whipped cream. Add a fresh mint sprig for garnish.
