Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 large tortillas (flour or whole wheat)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Optional: sour cream or ranch dressing for serving
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, ground ginger, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
- Place chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably a few hours or overnight.
- Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates if using a grill.
- Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Discard leftover marinade.
- Grill chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Adjust cooking time if using a stovetop grill pan.
- Transfer cooked chicken to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Slice the rested chicken into thin strips.
- Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Add a handful of shredded lettuce in the center.
- Layer on diced tomatoes (or other preferred veggies).
- Add sliced honey garlic chicken on top of the veggies.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the chicken.
- Top with chopped green onions and drizzle with sour cream or ranch dressing if desired.
- Fold the sides of the tortilla in towards the center, then roll tightly from the bottom upwards, tucking in the filling as you go.
- Secure wraps with a toothpick or wrap in parchment paper if making multiple.
- For a warm, crispy wrap, preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat and lightly grease it.
- Place wraps seam-side down on the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the veggies in the wraps based on your preferences.
- For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight.
- These wraps can be served with a side of chips or a fresh salad.
