Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds of steak tips (sirloin or flank steak)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and red wine vinegar.
- Add the minced garlic, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar to the bowl.
- Season the mixture with black pepper, salt, smoked paprika, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Stir until well combined.
- Taste the marinade and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Place the steak tips in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 4 to 6 hours, or overnight.
- About 30 minutes before grilling, take the steak tips out of the refrigerator to come to room temperature.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Lightly oil the grates with a paper towel dipped in vegetable oil.
- Remove the steak tips from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the leftover marinade.
- Place the steak tips on the grill, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
- Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
- Flip the steak tips and grill for another 4-5 minutes. Aim for an internal temperature of 130-135°F for medium-rare or 140-145°F for medium.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.
- Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steak tips from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes, covered loosely with aluminum foil.
- Slice the steak tips against the grain into bite-sized pieces.
- Arrange the sliced steak tips on a serving platter and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley.
- Serve with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables, salad, or mashed potatoes, and consider a dipping sauce like chimichurri or spicy aioli.
Notes
- For best results, marinate the steak tips overnight.
- Adjust the seasoning in the marinade to suit your taste preferences.
- Ensure the grill is properly preheated for optimal searing.
