Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Sear for 5-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and cover loosely with aluminum foil.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Allow it to melt, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
- Sprinkle in the dried thyme, oregano, and paprika. Stir for about 30 seconds to bloom the spices.
- Pour in 1/2 cup of chicken broth and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Return the seared chicken to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over it. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes if desired.
- Transfer the chicken to a serving platter, drizzle with remaining sauce, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For added depth, consider including vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes after sautéing the garlic.
- For a creamier sauce, stir in a splash of heavy cream or sour cream at the end.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of chicken broth.
