  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Cool off with these refreshing Frozen Mojitos, featuring a delightful mix of fresh mint, zesty lime, and smooth white rum, all blended with ice for a slushy treat. Perfect for hot summer days or festive occasions!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh mint leaves, packed
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 810 limes)
  • 1 cup white rum
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups ice cubes
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by washing the fresh mint leaves thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or impurities.
  2. Gently pat the mint leaves dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.
  3. Cut the limes in half and juice them using a manual or electric juicer. Strain the juice to remove any seeds or pulp.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine equal parts of sugar and water (1/2 cup each).
  5. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves (about 3-5 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and let the simple syrup cool completely. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
  7. In a blender, combine the fresh mint leaves, fresh lime juice, white rum, and simple syrup. Adjust sweetness if desired.
  8. Add the ice cubes (about 4 cups) to the blender.
  9. Blend on high speed until smooth and slushy. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.
  10. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
  11. Pour the blended mojito mixture into glasses, filling them about three-quarters full.
  12. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge on the rim.
  13. Optionally, rim the glasses with sugar for a sweet touch.
  14. Serve with a straw or spoon and enjoy the refreshing flavors.
  15. Experiment with fresh fruits for a fruity twist or make a non-alcoholic version by replacing rum with sparkling water.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your preference.
  • Muddle some mint leaves in the blender for a stronger mint flavor.
