Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts.
  3. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Check for doneness by cutting into the thickest part; it should be no longer pink.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Let it melt and foam.
  6. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.

  11. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over each piece.
  12. Simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  13. Serve each chicken breast on a plate, generously ladling the creamy mushroom sauce over the top.
