Description
Enjoy a refreshing Espresso Cappuccino Freddo, a creamy coffee drink made with rich espresso and frothy milk over ice. Perfect for warm days, this customizable treat is a favorite among coffee lovers, offering a delightful blend of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots of freshly brewed espresso (about 60 ml)
- 1 cup of cold milk (whole or your preferred alternative)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brew two shots of espresso using an espresso machine, stovetop Moka pot, or Aeropress. Allow the espresso to cool for a few minutes until warm but not hot.
- Pour cold milk into a frothing pitcher or a large glass jar. Froth the milk using a milk frother, or shake vigorously in the jar or whisk until light and airy. If desired, add sugar to the milk before frothing for a sweeter taste.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the cooled espresso over the ice, creating a layered effect. Gently pour the frothed milk over the espresso, allowing the foam to float on top.
- Optionally, sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon on top for added flavor. Stir gently to mix the layers slightly, but be careful not to disturb the foam too much. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
- Enjoy your cappuccino freddo immediately with a straw or spoon.
Notes
- Use freshly roasted beans and grind them just before brewing for the best flavor.
- Experiment with different types of milk, such as almond, oat, or soy, for a unique twist.
- For a velvety foam, angle the frothing pitcher and submerge the wand just below the surface of the milk.
- Chill your glass in the freezer for a few minutes before serving for an extra refreshing experience.
- Add flavored syrups like vanilla or hazelnut to the milk before frothing for a creative twist.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an elegant touch.
