- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the gochujang, softened butter, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
- Using a whisk or a fork, mix everything together until its well combined and smooth.
- Taste the marinade and adjust the spice or sweetness as desired.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
- Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated.
- Let the salmon marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
- Place the marinated salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down.
- Drizzle any remaining marinade over the top of the salmon.
- Sprinkle a little salt and pepper over the fillets.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets.
- For an extra crispy finish, broil the salmon for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Slice the green onions and prepare your sesame seeds for garnish.
