Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the gochujang, softened butter, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
  2. Using a whisk or a fork, mix everything together until it’s well combined and smooth.
  3. Taste the marinade and adjust the spice or sweetness as desired.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  5. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated.
  6. Let the salmon marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor.
  7. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  9. Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
  10. Place the marinated salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down.
  11. Drizzle any remaining marinade over the top of the salmon.
  12. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper over the fillets.
  13. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets.
  14. For an extra crispy finish, broil the salmon for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  15. Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  16. Slice the green onions and prepare your sesame seeds for garnish.
  17. To serve, place the salmon on a plate, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds, and enjoy!
