Instructions
- Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add Vegetables: Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet with the browned beef. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Season the Mixture: Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix everything together well.
- Combine Noodles and Meat Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cooked egg noodles and the meat mixture. Gently toss until the noodles are evenly coated.
- Add Cheese, Tomatoes, and Pickles: Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese, the chopped tomatoes, and the chopped dill pickle slices. Mix well.
- Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the noodle mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread evenly.
- Top with Remaining Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it Rest: Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve: Serve on toasted and buttered sesame seed buns (optional), with ketchup and mustard (optional), and your favorite sides.
