Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large ripe, but firm, bananas
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 pint fresh pineapple chunks
- 1 pint fresh blueberries
- 1 (12 ounce) jar hot fudge sauce
- 1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, pecans, or your favorite nuts
- Maraschino cherries, for garnish
- Wooden skewers (approximately 6-8 inches long)
- Optional: Mini marshmallows
- Optional: Chocolate syrup
- Optional: Caramel sauce
Instructions
- Rinse strawberries, pat dry, and hull. If large, cut in half or quarters.
- Peel and core fresh pineapple (recommended) and cut into 1-inch chunks. If using pre-cut, drain well.
- Rinse blueberries and drain well. Remove any stems or leaves.
- Peel bananas and cut into 1-inch thick slices right before assembling. Toss banana slices in lemon or pineapple juice to prevent browning (optional).
- Thread a strawberry, banana slice, pineapple chunk, and blueberries onto a skewer. Repeat until almost full, leaving space at the top.
- Continue threading fruit onto remaining skewers.
- Arrange assembled kabobs on a serving platter.
- Gently warm hot fudge sauce in the microwave or saucepan until pourable.
- Drizzle warm hot fudge sauce over the assembled kabobs.
- Dollop whipped topping onto each kabob.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the whipped topping.
- Top each kabob with a maraschino cherry.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup and caramel sauce, if desired.
- Add mini marshmallows to the skewers alongside the fruit, if desired.
- Enjoy the kabobs immediately for the best taste and presentation.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent mushy kabobs.
- Toss banana slices in lemon or pineapple juice to prevent browning.
- Get creative with fruit patterns on the skewers.
- Warm the hot fudge sauce gently to avoid burning.
- These are best enjoyed immediately, as the bananas can start to brown over time.
- Customize with different fruits, toppings, and dips.
- For short-term storage (up to a few hours), wrap kabobs individually in plastic wrap and refrigerate.
- Consider grilling the pineapple and banana for a unique twist.
