- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth, leaving a few small chunks for texture if desired.
- Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and stir until combined.
- Mix in the granulated sugar until well incorporated.
- Crack in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently to avoid overmixing.
- Fold in chocolate chips and/or nuts if using.
- Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges look set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cool, cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
- Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider using dark chocolate cocoa powder.
- Feel free to customize with your favorite mix-ins like dried fruit or different types of nuts.
- These brownies can be served warm or at room temperature, and pair wonderfully with ice cream.
