Balsamic Glazed Salmon Dish: A Delicious Recipe for Healthy Eating

  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Balsamic Honey Glazed Salmon features a sweet and tangy glaze made from balsamic vinegar and honey, perfectly enhancing the tender salmon fillets. Quick and easy to prepare, it’s an ideal choice for both weeknight dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine balsamic vinegar, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and Dijon mustard. Whisk until well blended. Adjust sweetness or tanginess to taste by adding more honey or balsamic vinegar.
  2. Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor.
  3. While the salmon is marinating, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  4. After marinating, remove the salmon from the refrigerator. Allow excess marinade to drip off. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  5. Carefully flip the fillets over and pour the reserved marinade over them. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Once done, remove the skillet from the oven and let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes. Drizzle any remaining glaze over the salmon, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • For frozen salmon, ensure it is completely thawed before marinating.
  • Feel free to add herbs like thyme or rosemary to the marinade for extra flavor.
  • This salmon can also be grilled; just oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
